This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead significant graphics projects across the platform, focusing on asset compatibility, lighting, shader and material workflows, as well as innovative rendering techniques.
• Create and develop solutions for runtime asset translation and cross-platform content workflows.
• Design, enhance, and implement custom Unreal Editor tools, UI extensions, and automated asset pipelines to streamline content creation.
• Address low-level graphics, optimization, and profiling issues to enhance rendering performance and visual quality across various hardware.
• Establish the technical standards for the Unreal team through architectural decisions, robust C++ programming, and active code reviews.
• Collaborate directly with teams developing OKO's web and mobile clients and cloud services to guarantee a top-notch Unreal experience.
• Enhance team capabilities through knowledge sharing, documentation, and technical guidance.
• Offer technical leadership and mentorship while remaining hands-on rather than managing personnel.
• Develop and optimize the OKO Unreal Engine plugin and studio-centric Unreal pipelines.
• Extensive professional experience in C++ development within Unreal Engine, with a thorough understanding of the engine's codebase and runtime systems.
• Solid foundations in graphics and rendering programming, with practical experience in Unreal's rendering code, including RHI, shader development, and GPU performance profiling.
• Proven experience in building, maintaining, or enhancing Unreal Editor tools, workflows, or pipelines used by developers or artists.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clarify complex technical rendering or tooling issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative attitude and a genuine interest in mentoring fellow developers and sharing knowledge across disciplines.
• A history of creating clarity and driving technical advancement in a dynamic product environment.
• Experience with runtime asset loading and asset interchange technologies such as glTF/GLB or USD.
• Familiarity with real-time replication, multiplayer, or real-time synchronization.
• Experience in building, maintaining, or distributing Unreal Engine plugins.
