Senior Golang Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, implement, review, and test frameworks, libraries, tools, and services primarily utilizing Go.

• Engage in requirement gathering, design, planning, and retrospective meetings as an essential member of an Agile software development team.

• Contribute to successful sprints by executing tasks that align with overall team objectives.

• Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate within the organization and the wider community.

• Actively maintain Mirantis projects by overseeing contributions and patches to open-source initiatives, reviewing submissions, and participating in design discussions.

• Engage in product conversations, influence the roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility for new projects to ensure their successful execution.

• Be the technical reference for external partners and in-house engineering teams, providing support by sharing expertise and/or undertaking development efforts.

• Contribute to testing through automation and test plan evaluations to prevent bugs from entering the product and to eliminate regressions, ensuring a quality product with every build.

• Ensure that MSR remains a premier and essential component of diverse customer solutions, integrating seamlessly with existing systems, including popular orchestrators and other industry-standard components.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.

• Proficient in debugging, especially for multi-process, orchestrated, distributed systems.

• Familiarity with the creation and utilization of containerization, Kubernetes, and Registries (preferably Harbor).

• Over 5 years of development experience in a Linux or other Unix-like environment.

• At least 3 years of experience with the Go programming language or any other modern programming language used for production applications.

• Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or Go tooling projects are preferred.

• Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or DCA are preferred.

• Experience with additional languages, such as Shell scripting and Python, is preferred.

• Background with container registries (Harbor/MSR), OCI specs, Docker, and/or Swarm is preferred.
