Senior GL Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Take charge of comprehensive accounting processes for multiple international entities, serving as a bridge between local compliance and overarching financial reporting. This position is ideal for individuals who excel in multi-jurisdictional settings, enjoy the intricacies of tax compliance, and are passionate about process automation.

• Financial Closing & Reporting

• - Oversee the complete monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures across various group entities, ensuring the precision and reliability of financial statements.

• - Prepare consolidated reporting packages and spearhead the audit support process, which includes documentation preparation and collaboration with auditors.

• Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• - Manage tax compliance (VAT, GST, TVA, Sales & Use Tax, withholding) across different jurisdictions.

• - Work directly with external local advisors to guarantee timely completion of all periodic tax filings and reporting requirements.

• Operational Accounting & Subsidiary Support

• - Supervise daily GL functions, including intricate inter-company reconciliations, payroll entries, and fixed asset accounting.

• - Assist in the financial setup of new companies within the ERP and facilitate the smooth accounting integration of new subsidiaries.

• Process Improvement & Optimisation

• - Identify and resolve accounting issues, contributing to process automation and the standardization of accounting practices across the group.

• - Uphold rigorous documentation standards to support all transactions, audits, and compliance filings.

• You will work closely with the accounting manager, the accounting team, and external advisors across various jurisdictions to ensure financial integrity and alignment throughout the company. These collaborations are essential for achieving our organizational objectives and fostering effective communication across different areas of the company.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must-haves

• - Experience: Demonstrated history (4+ years) as a Senior GL Accountant or Accounting Specialist, particularly within complex or multi-entity environments.

• - Accounting Expertise: Strong, practical knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including month-end closings, reconciliations, and tax compliance (VAT, GST, Withholding, etc.).

• - ERP & Tools: Advanced Excel skills and substantial experience with ERP systems.

• - Language Skills: Professional fluency in both English and Spanish (essential for our cross-jurisdictional collaboration).

• Nice-to-haves

• - Experience with SAGE X3, Power BI, or Lucanet is highly regarded.

• - Experience in supporting annual audits and consolidated financial reporting.
