Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Prepare journal entries in accordance with US GAAP standards.

• Reconcile various general ledger accounts, including investigating the root causes of any discrepancies in the balances.

• Generate end-of-month consolidated financial statements and reports, including the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.

• Assist with semi-monthly payroll preparation as required.

• Analyze monthly financial activities for appropriateness and detect any potential anomalies.

• Record and process vendor invoices efficiently.

• Collaborate with other members of the Accounting & Finance team on special projects as necessary.

• Act as a liaison and point of contact for Accounting & Finance within the organization, supporting internal functions.

• Aid in gathering, validating, and organizing documentation and data for internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and timely availability of requested information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience with a BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.

• At least 3 years of experience working in a government contracting environment.

• Proven experience with recording transactions in compliance with US GAAP.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.

• Strong self-starter capable of driving and achieving results.

• Ability to meet deadlines consistently.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications.

• Experience with Unanet is preferred, or the capacity to quickly learn and master Unanet.

• **Preferred Qualifications**

• Certified Public Accountant designation.

• Experience in Government Contracting.

• Familiarity with Cost Accounting Standards and DCAA audits.
