This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver expert insights on the architecture and functionality of GCP networking, compute, security, storage, and associated platform services.
• Collaborate with customer operations teams to implement tools, operational methodologies, and cloud best practices that enhance productivity, reliability, and efficiency.
• Act as the primary contact for infrastructure and operations inquiries and technical escalations, offering Tier 3 troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure, Terraform deployments, and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Take responsibility for unfamiliar technical or operational domains and assist customer and delivery teams in navigating emerging challenges.
• Participate in Agile delivery ceremonies and technical discussions.
• Analyze metrics and logs, pinpoint bottlenecks and risks, assist in root cause analysis, and establish long-term remediation strategies.
• Evaluate and enhance day-two operational readiness, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability configurations.
• Mentor on Terraform module development, state management, infrastructure automation, CI/CD integration, GitOps, and DevSecOps workflows.
• Assist with application and database release management and rollback procedures.
• Review and provide guidance on runbooks, SOPs, troubleshooting documents, operational artifacts, and technical design specifications.
• Hold weekly office hours for Infrastructure, DevSecOps, and Release Management processes.
• Interact with Change Control and Architecture Review Boards.
• Investigate GCP services and architectural elements to inform strategic recommendations.
• Document activity, status, and task details in Jira.
• Clarify vague requirements, create actionable paths, and drive issues to resolution.
• Offer proactive technical leadership throughout the project and represent Google and 540 in customer-facing interactions.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive background in designing, operating, or supporting production environments on Google Cloud.
• Strong expertise in GCP networking, compute, storage, identity, access management, and fundamental security services.
• Experience in translating cloud architecture into practical day-two operations and support processes.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state management, deployment troubleshooting, and CI/CD integration.
• Familiarity with supporting GitOps, CI/CD, or DevSecOps workflows in production settings.
• Experience in infrastructure monitoring, logging, system health analysis, and operational risk assessment.
• Solid understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and platform resilience.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and formulating long-term corrective and preventive measures.
• Capability to troubleshoot intricate cloud infrastructure and deployment challenges at a Tier 3 level.
• Experience in creating and reviewing technical design documents, runbooks, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
• Experience supporting release management and rollback activities.
• Working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and task management tools like Jira.
• Excellent customer-facing communication, facilitation, and technical advisory skills.
• Ability to convey architectural concepts and operational recommendations to technical teams and customer leadership.
• Proactive ownership mentality with the confidence to identify risks, suggest improvements, and drive issues to resolution.
• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and currently possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust.
• Google Cloud professional-level certification, Apigee, government or regulated cloud experience, formal board procedures, SRE, modernization, and aviation experience are preferred.
