Senior Game Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take charge of feature and systems design for live free-to-play games, guiding them from concept to implementation-ready documentation and post-launch adjustments.

• Design based on data and player behavior, collaborating with Product, Analytics, and Production teams on KPIs, retention, revenue, A/B testing, and actionable design choices.

• Produce seasonal and event content for live-ops games.

• Work across Exient's portfolio, including Lemmings and other live and partner titles.

• Contribute to Game Design Documents (GDDs), proposals, concept pitches, competitive analysis, and project scoping activities.

• Create features that comply with regulatory and compliance standards.

• Enhance AI-assisted design workflows.

• Collaborate with artists, engineers, and producers to deliver well-integrated, polished features.

• Rapidly prototype and playtest ideas through iterative processes.

• Lead independent work, elevate quality standards, and provide support and mentorship to colleagues.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years’ experience in game design, primarily within a mobile games company.

• Proven history of shipping and operating live mobile titles.

• A degree in Games Design, Interactive Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience managing complex design projects in a fast-paced, multi-project setting.

• A portfolio or case studies that demonstrate senior-level design thinking across mechanics, economy, and player experience.

• Strong understanding of core-loop mechanics, meta-game design, game balance, economy, and monetization strategies.

• Excellent grasp of UI/UX principles and game flow, pacing, and player experience.

• Ability to conceptualize, prototype, and implement game concepts using a variety of tools.

• Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into design workflows.

• Proficiency with tools such as Figma, Unity, Git, Jira, Confluence, and Claude.

• Skill in analyzing data, forming hypotheses, and utilizing KPIs to inform balancing decisions.

• A broad knowledge of games, with a passion for casual, mobile, and classic arcade genres.

• Self-motivated and organized, with a consistent track record of reliable delivery while working autonomously.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to collaborate across different disciplines and time zones.

• A strong sense of accountability and ownership, with a readiness for self-critique and accepting constructive feedback.

• Comfortable navigating between projects and swiftly adapting to changing priorities.
