Senior Fullstack Engineer – Go, React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Assist in stabilizing and modernizing an existing legacy application.

• Diagnose and resolve problems in video ingestion pipelines, RTSP streams, encoder integrations, and backend services.

• Work collaboratively with engineering and product teams to pinpoint technical debt, architectural deficiencies, and enhancements for reliability.

• Design, implement, and refine scalable backend APIs and services.

• Play a role in migrating platform components from on-premises infrastructure to AWS-based environments.

• Engage in architecture and system design discussions concerning scalability, reliability, and hybrid cloud/on-prem deployments.

• Investigate production incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and apply long-term solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during backlog refinement, technical planning, and execution of delivery.

• Document technical decisions, architectural assumptions, and operational workflows as necessary.

• Mentor engineers and contribute to the establishment of engineering best practices when appropriate.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering.

• At least 3 years of experience managing full stack systems.

• Expertise in Golang at a senior level (primary programming language); production experience with Go and React.

• Proven experience in building and maintaining distributed backend systems in a production environment.

• Proficiency in designing scalable APIs and backend services.

• Experience with complex production systems and troubleshooting live issues.

• Working knowledge of React (capable of contributing to the UI layer, though not necessarily a frontend specialist).

• Familiarity with cloud-based systems, preferably AWS.

• Strong background in system design and making architectural decisions.

• Ability to work with legacy systems and modernize them incrementally.

• Strong ownership mindset and ability to thrive in ambiguous technical settings.

• Experience collaborating within Agile Teams.

• Experience in healthcare or clinical software.

• Familiarity with hardware-integrated systems.

• Experience managing large binary/media data workflows.

• Experience with hybrid cloud and on-prem architectures.
