Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer – Back-End Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Participate in the architecture, design, and technical decision-making across the entire application stack, including React and Next.js frontends, Node.js backend services, Contentful CMS integrations, and AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Create, develop, and sustain scalable, secure, and high-performing APIs that act as the backbone for consumer-facing applications.

• Manage CMS content modeling and streamline editorial workflows within Contentful CMS.

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment procedures, monitoring, observability, and system reliability.

• Ensure adherence to security, governance, and best practices for cloud infrastructure within AWS, including IAM least-privilege, private S3 patterns, and secrets management.

• Set and uphold engineering standards, best practices, and scalable design patterns.

• Offer technical mentorship, supervision, and performance feedback to engineers.

• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Assist in sprint planning, technical estimation, roadmap creation, and recruitment efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on back-end development, showcasing architectural responsibility.

• Proven experience in mentoring software engineers.

• Exceptional collaboration, communication, and cross-functional partnership abilities.

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and PHP; extensive Node.js backend experience, preferably with NestJS.

• Experience in designing and utilizing APIs within distributed or microservices architectures.

• Familiarity with JWT/OIDC authentication, including Auth0 or similar, and passport-jwt/JWKS patterns.

• Demonstrated experience with relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases — including schema design, query optimization, multi-environment deployments, and operational MongoDB (replication, sharding, performance tuning) preferred.

• Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration on AWS ECS (task definitions, logging, ECR).

• Proficient understanding of core AWS services: Amplify, API Gateway, ALB/NLB, S3, EFS, CloudWatch, X-Ray, IAM, and VPC.

• Experience in building and maintaining automation within cloud-native environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks (Terraform + Terragrunt).

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions and GitHub OIDC for secure AWS deployments.

• Experience in observability and production operations: logs, metrics, alarms, distributed tracing, and troubleshooting in production environments.

• Knowledge of security best practices, including IAM least-privilege, private S3 patterns, and secrets management.

• Strong testing and quality discipline across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers (Jest), alongside robust linting and formatting standards.

• Experience in integrating headless CMS platforms with modern front-end frameworks.
