This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Design, develop, and maintain platform capabilities that support various product and engineering teams, with a strong focus on authentication, identity, session management, and access control.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of secure, scalable full-stack systems utilizing Vue.js and Ruby on Rails, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability across shared platform surfaces.
• Enhance authentication and sign-in experiences across the platform, including flows that necessitate district-aware routing, subdomain-aware login behavior, SSO compatibility, and a clear distinction of session boundaries.
• Develop and advance shared services that serve as reliable sources of truth for platform-critical data and workflows, fostering consistency across applications and teams.
• Establish systems and patterns that empower other engineers to build confidently, minimizing duplicated efforts and elevating the standards for security, performance, and developer experience.
• Make informed technical decisions that align with both long-term platform strategies and immediate business priorities.
• Extensive professional experience in building and deploying production software across the full stack.
• Strong practical experience with contemporary frontend and backend development, ideally including Vue.js and Ruby on Rails.
• Experience working on platforms, infrastructure-adjacent, or shared systems that cater to multiple teams or products.
• In-depth understanding of authentication and authorization concepts such as SSO, session management, identity flows, access control, and secure service boundaries.
• Experience in designing APIs, backend services, and internal abstractions that are reusable, reliable, and user-friendly for other engineers.
• A robust operational mindset, including comfort with monitoring, alerting, rollout planning, incident response, and performance optimization.
• Ability to balance speed and quality while making sustainable architectural decisions in a dynamic environment.
• Proven capability to mentor others, influence technical direction, and enhance engineering standards through collaboration.
