Senior Full-stack Engineer – React/Node, Backend-Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the entire lifecycle of product features, encompassing database schema design, backend development, frontend delivery, and production monitoring.

• Create, develop, and sustain scalable event-driven and distributed systems, ensuring strong reliability and data consistency.

• Craft and enhance complex PostgreSQL queries, migrations, and transactional workflows tailored for high-performance financial operations.

• Establish robust integrations with third-party systems using webhooks, queues, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation processes.

• Apply reliability engineering patterns such as idempotency, dead-letter queues (DLQs), outbox patterns, and fault-tolerant processing.

• Design responsive and high-quality user interfaces with React and Next.js.

• Influence architectural decisions and consistently enhance system scalability, observability, and operational excellence.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar platforms to boost engineering productivity and expedite delivery.

• Engage in code reviews, mentor fellow engineers, and advocate best practices for managing sensitive financial and transactional data.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to create outstanding user experiences.

• Implement and uphold observability and monitoring solutions with tools such as Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Assist in infrastructure automation and cloud resource management by employing Infrastructure as Code practices like Terraform or Pulumi.

• Ensure engineering practices conform to security, compliance, and regulated-environment requirements, including SOC2 and PCI-DSS standards where applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer delivering production-ready applications from start to finish.

• Strong command of TypeScript and Node.js.

• Advanced proficiency with React and Next.js.

• In-depth expertise in PostgreSQL and database engineering, including raw SQL, query optimization, migrations, and performance analysis.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining event-driven and distributed systems.

• Solid understanding of reliability engineering patterns, encompassing:

• - Idempotency keys and retry strategies

• - Dead-letter queues (DLQs)

• - Outbox patterns

• - Reconciliation processes for data consistency

• Experience in developing webhook-driven architectures and integrating third-party systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of scalable system architecture, asynchronous processing, and fault-tolerant applications.

• Experience in financial, payments, billing, payroll, or ledgering systems.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar agentic coding platforms.

• Strong problem-solving abilities accompanied by a systems-thinking mindset and attention to edge cases and data integrity.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to work independently within high-impact engineering teams.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.

• Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms like Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments, including SOC2 or PCI-DSS.

• Familiarity with property-based testing frameworks such as fast-check for validating complex business logic.

• Proven track record of optimizing applications for scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Previous experience mentoring engineers and participating in technical leadership roles.

• Experience working within fintech or platforms with high transaction volumes.

• Exposure to modern AI-enhanced engineering workflows and automation practices.

• Experience collaborating in autonomous, product-focused engineering teams.
