This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Develop comprehensive full stack applications utilizing RESTful services, guaranteeing performance, scalability, observability, and maintainability in partnership with the Software Architect.
• Set an example through hands-on coding, conducting code reviews, and designing full stack features.
• Proactively identify long-term challenges such as system performance, technical debt, and the evolution of technology stacks.
• Promote the use of AI-assisted practices by advocating for best practices and practical implementations of AI-powered code generation.
• Maintain adherence to best practices for unit, integration, snapshot, and end-to-end testing.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines, ensuring code quality and observability.
• Work collaboratively with engineers across various projects to achieve team objectives.
• Engage cross-functionally with Software Architect, Product, Design, Data Science/Medical, and Security teams.
• Convert requirements into elegant and maintainable solutions that satisfy customer needs.
• Guide and mentor fellow engineers.
• Shape decisions regarding API and database design as well as front-end technical direction.
• Guarantee the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of software.
• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on the React framework and Node.js.
• More than 3 years of experience building RESTful services, including database design in Node.js.
• Deep understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript tools and ecosystems (Webpack, Vite, Babel, ESLint, Jest, Cypress/Playwright).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and a proven track record of enhancing development processes through practical application.
• Expertise in frontend performance enhancement techniques (bundle splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies, rendering patterns).
• Excellent communication skills—capable of driving consensus, documenting decisions (ADRs, RFCs), and clearly presenting trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
