Senior Full-Stack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain functionalities within the OpenNebula web interface, with a primary emphasis on front-end development while also contributing to back-end components when necessary.

• Take ownership of the implementation of new features, managing the process from development through testing, documentation, and delivery.

• Write well-tested, maintainable code that ensures strong test coverage and emphasizes long-term software quality.

• Troubleshoot and resolve development issues that span the front-end and back-end in Linux-based environments.

• Create clear and concise technical documentation.

• Communicate developments and technical decisions effectively to the team.

• Actively suggest ideas and enhancements for the product, codebase, and development practices.

• Collaborate closely with fellow developers and contribute across various layers of the stack as priorities shift.

• Assist in the development of the OpenNebula open-source cloud management platform and its strategic edge-computing initiative.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.

• Over 3 years of professional software development experience in real production environments, with expertise extending beyond merely front-end work.

• Practical experience in developing web applications that encompass both front-end and back-end components.

• Experience in developing and maintaining user-facing web applications in a production setting.

• Familiarity with collaborating on software projects utilizing modern development workflows, version control, and technical documentation.

• Strong web development skills in React, Angular, or Vue, with a preference for working primarily with React.

• Hands-on experience with Node.js, NPM, and current JavaScript development workflows.

• Comfortable working independently in Linux-based development environments, such as RHEL/AlmaLinux or Ubuntu/Debian.

• Proficient in using version control systems like Git and experienced with automated testing practices.

• Comfortable utilizing command-line tools and troubleshooting development environments.

• Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency (B2 or higher) is required.

• Full-stack mentality and adaptability to contribute to both front-end and back-end development.

• Strong self-management skills and accountability.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate developments, technical decisions, and proposals.

• A collaborative and pragmatic approach is essential.

• Product-oriented mindset.

• Curiosity and adaptability to expand knowledge in virtualization, networking, cloud infrastructure, or other aspects of the OpenNebula stack.
