This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Develop and sustain scalable frontend and email template components utilizing contemporary web development methodologies.
• Create dynamic email templates employing Apache Velocity/VTL-style macros like #set, #if, #foreach, and #define.
• Assemble reusable Velocity components and macros into comprehensive email templates.
• Convert Figma designs into modular, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with shared design systems and reusable components rather than creating one-off hand-coded HTML.
• Assess when to enhance an existing component versus constructing a new one.
• Integrate user interfaces and email templates with backend platforms and API-driven data sources.
• Connect to, query, consume, and format data from internal or external APIs for conditional, logic-driven dynamic emails.
• Develop templates for scalability, including support for 100+ locales, localized copy, dynamic data, per-recipient personalization, and array-based looping.
• Hand-code responsive, accessible HTML/CSS optimized for email client rendering constraints across Outlook, Gmail, and Apple Mail.
• Work proficiently with Git, GitLab or GitHub, the command line, and modern IDE-based development workflows.
• Collaborate in environments utilizing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code tooling, and AWS primitives.
• Senior-level frontend or software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Current or most recent position should likely be Software Engineer or Frontend Engineer with a focus on frontend development.
• Strong frontend development skills in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience in integrating frontend interfaces with backend platforms or services.
• Proficient understanding of Apache Velocity, VTL, or Velocity-style macro templating.
• Practical experience with macros including #set, #if, #foreach, and #define.
• Background in composing components or macros into complete email templates.
• Experience working with scalable design systems and shared reusable components.
• Capability to build for personalization, localization, and dynamic data at scale.
• Proven track record in consuming API data and applying it in conditional, logic-driven templates or user experiences.
• Advanced skills in responsive HTML/CSS coding for email clients.
• Experience in creating accessible email or frontend experiences.
• Familiar with rendering limitations across Outlook, Gmail, and Apple Mail.
• Strong skills in Git, command line, and IDE workflows.
• Experience translating Figma designs into modular code.
• Knowledge of AWS primitives such as compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI.
• 100% allocation.
• Expected 40 hours per week.
• Contract currently anticipated to extend through March 31, 2027.
