Senior Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of essential product surfaces from beginning to end, encompassing direction, performance monitoring, and prioritization.

• Develop and adjust backend APIs, services, and data flows.

• Discover opportunities through user feedback, data analysis, and codebase insights to influence the roadmap.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver results independently.

• Lead the transition of key features from JavaScript to TypeScript.

• Create LLM-driven product functionalities throughout the entire stack.

• Implement model integrations, design prompts, manage streaming responses, handle errors, and enhance user experiences for unpredictable model outputs.

• Identify and address frontend and backend architectural and performance challenges.

• Utilize Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot while fostering responsible AI practices.

• Evaluate critical workflows and incorporate monitoring and error reporting.

• Take ownership of work deployed in production, including AI-generated code.

• Review code and provide mentorship to fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• Strong frontend capabilities complemented by backend proficiency.

• Competence in API design, server-side coding, database interactions, and debugging client-server issues.

• Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions autonomously.

• Proven experience in leading projects from inception to completion, documenting processes, and instructing others.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clarify technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Comfortable working with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Vite, and Tailwind.

• Regular, thoughtful engagement with AI coding assistants and agents.

• Skillful evaluation of AI-generated code.

• Nice to have: Experience with Node.js, Scala, Python, relational databases, caching, and queues.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Redux, Redux Saga, and/or Zustand.

• Nice to have: Experience with LLM-powered features, streaming UIs, model APIs, prompt design, or evaluations.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of agentic coding workflows, custom rules or context files, or MCP servers.
