Senior Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance the front-end of BotCity’s products.

• Create, deploy, and maintain scalable and responsive web applications utilizing modern front-end technologies.

• Primarily concentrate on desktop experiences, with potential for mobile development as needed.

• Work collaboratively with product managers and UX/UI designers to comprehend requirements and convert them into technically viable, user-friendly solutions.

• Sustain and enhance the front-end codebase by refactoring outdated code and applying best practices.

• Ensure optimal performance across various devices and browsers.

• Engage in code reviews and uphold best practices in front-end development.

• Identify and resolve front-end issues to guarantee a seamless user experience.

• Develop reusable code and libraries for future applications.

• Optimize components for peak speed and efficiency.

• Establish front-end standards and playbooks to assist the team in scaling effectively.

• Elevate the team’s standards through code reviews, collaborative coding, and knowledge sharing.

• Report directly to the Engineering Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience working as a software engineer.

• At least 3 years of experience on complex front-end projects in collaboration with Product/UX/UI teams.

• Strong software engineering principles, including clean coding practices, design patterns, component architecture, and state management.

• Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress.

• Experience in front-end performance optimization.

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Expertise in React and Next.js frameworks.

• Experience with version control using Git and GitHub.

• Proficient in MS Office/Excel, Google Suite, and Notion.

• Fluent in Portuguese.

• Advanced proficiency in English.

• Ability to drive projects to completion with a sense of accountability and take calculated risks focused on customer needs.

• Capability to start with customer requirements and execute thoroughly while maintaining an overarching perspective.

• Strong communication skills, able to engage proactively, clearly, and respectfully challenge decisions.

• Willingness to actively seek, provide, and utilize feedback.

• Prior experience in a fast-paced startup environment characterized by early-stage growth.

• Availability to travel as required to support events and meet the team.
