Senior Forward Deployed Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical lead responsible for the architecture, pipeline implementation, and overall quality of delivery for Army Vantage dashboards and data workflows.

• Collaborate directly with government stakeholders and engineering teams to provide operational analytics capabilities that aid in force management and readiness decisions.

• Take independent ownership of complex implementation tasks from the design phase all the way to production.

• Guide junior engineers and ensure that sprint deliverables adhere to operational standards.

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

• Develop and refine front-end analytical dashboards using Foundry’s Workshop/Slate application layer.

• Establish and enforce automated quality gates, validation suites, and release confidence checks.

• Set up observability tools, including monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

• Engage in agile sprint cycles, which include planning, standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Showcase working capabilities to government stakeholders.

• Ensure integration patterns, data access controls, and release procedures align with platform requirements.

• Produce thorough technical documentation, configuration baselines, and operational runbooks.

• Offer defect resolution, troubleshooting, and opportunities for incremental improvements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise with Palantir Foundry, encompassing pipelines, Workshop/Slate, Ontology configuration, and AIP.

• Over 8 years of software engineering or systems integration experience.

• Proven experience in delivering CI/CD pipelines and analytics platforms within classified or DoD environments.

• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Java as it pertains to Foundry development workflows.

• Knowledge of Army Vantage, GFIM, force management, or readiness data domains.

• Capability to manage the complete feature lifecycle: architecture → build → test → deployment.
