Senior Forward Deployed Engineer – Finance AI Enablement

📋 Description

• In the role of Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer for Finance, you will serve as the integrated AI engineering partner for the Finance department.

• Participate in planning reviews, close cycles, forecasting discussions, operational reviews, and executive preparation processes to gain a thorough understanding of the current Finance operations and the potential for AI transformation.

• Collaborate closely with the Sr. Director of Strategic Finance, who oversees the Finance AI roadmap and prioritization of business needs.

• Create and establish the Finance-specific AI integration layer that links AI systems to enterprise finance platforms, operational data, and sources of institutional knowledge.

• Develop AI-driven quality assurance and validation systems that enhance confidence, consistency, and operational rigor within Finance workflows.

• Build AI systems that continuously evaluate operational and financial processes to reveal insights, anomalies, optimization prospects, and business risks.

• Work in partnership across Finance, Accounting, IT, Security & Compliance, Data & Engineering, and Enterprise AI & Automation teams.

• Collaborate closely with Finance Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to maintain operational accuracy, transparency, and trust in workflows.

• Empower Finance teams to assess, utilize, and evolve AI systems effectively over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in building and deploying software, data, automation, or AI-powered applications.

• At least 2 years of recent hands-on experience with LLM-based or AI-enabled systems in production settings.

• Significant experience in designing AI workflows, including retrieval systems, orchestration patterns, tool utilization, evaluation frameworks, and multi-step reasoning systems.

• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in developing production-quality backend services, APIs, integrations, and automation workflows.

• Experience in integrating enterprise systems and operational data into AI-enabled workflows.

• Familiarity with enterprise business systems such as ERP, planning, financial, or operational platforms.

• Experience in designing retrieval or contextual knowledge systems across extensive document and metric corpora.

• Knowledge of structured and unstructured enterprise data environments.

• Understanding of operational monitoring, evaluation, and observability concepts pertaining to AI systems.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Proven capability to collaborate directly with non-technical teams and translate business workflows into scalable technical solutions.

• Experience in empowering business users through training, documentation, and operational coaching.

• Comfortable working in highly cross-functional and rapidly changing environments.

• Thrives in ambiguous and zero-to-one environments.

• Strong ownership mentality with the ability to independently advance initiatives.

• Able to balance embedded business partnership with centralized engineering alignment.
