Senior Forensic Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• In this position, you will create and develop specialized forensic software that supports federal cybercrime and digital evidence investigations.

• You will combine your extensive knowledge of digital forensics techniques with advanced software engineering expertise to develop tools that investigators depend on to identify crucial artifacts, reconstruct events, and authenticate evidence.

• Collaborate closely with a core technical engineering team, including forensic subject matter experts, crypto engineers, and software developers to design and deliver innovative capabilities.

• Design and implement forensic functionalities that operate at the fundamental levels of an operating system, which includes parsing file systems, analyzing volatile memory, dissecting binary data, and automating intricate investigative processes.

• Ensure that all tools comply with evidentiary standards and validation criteria.

• Integrate forensic tools into enterprise systems and investigative platforms.

• Assist investigators and forensic analysts by developing custom capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of software development experience, specifically focused on digital forensics or investigative tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in developing enterprise-grade forensic applications that adhere to evidentiary standards.

• In-depth knowledge of one or more areas such as OS internals, reverse engineering, binary analysis, and scripting/automation.

• Familiarity with forensic platforms like EnCase, AXIOM, X‑Ways, and Cellebrite.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong attention to detail.

• **Candidates must satisfy eligibility requirements for a Secret clearance.** DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) suitability is necessary to commence support. After EOD approval, candidates will be processed for, and must successfully obtain a Secret clearance.
