This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Conduct investigations and evaluations of equipment-specific damages resulting from failures and identify the origins of those failures for insurers and litigation purposes.
• Record failure analyses and causation using root cause analysis, measured data, and numerical modeling techniques.
• Offer expert consultation in line with inspection protocols and regulatory standards.
• Estimate costs for repairs and replacements to return equipment to its pre-loss condition.
• Coordinate equipment recovery efforts with decontamination firms and original equipment manufacturers.
• Create comprehensive reports detailing the causes and origins of losses and damages.
• Provide testimony in court as an expert witness regarding evidence analysis and conclusions drawn.
• Act as a consultant for commercial equipment losses, investigating the causes of loss and exploring recovery options.
• Record and maintain billable hours on a time-and-expense basis.
• Comply with quality assurance protocols and accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with sales and operations managers, architects, developers, insurance adjusters, claims managers, and attorneys to promote professional services.
• Travel as necessary.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Previous experience with engineering reporting is preferred.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations.
• Proficiency in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Office products.
• Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.
