Senior Forecast Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical and software assistance to clients.

• Oversee and implement consulting projects that enhance distribution forecasting, capacity screening analysis, and high-quality client outputs.

• Utilize forecasting techniques and DER adoption analysis to guide distribution planning studies and future system requirements.

• Examine geospatial and load data to generate insights at the feeder, area, or substation level that cater to clients’ distribution planning needs.

• Communicate forecasts and analysis to clients and stakeholders through workshops, webinars, and conferences.

• Contribute to Itron’s thought leadership by writing blogs, conducting brown bag sessions, and producing white papers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10 to 15+ years of experience in the energy sector (utility, consulting, research, etc.).

• In-depth knowledge of distribution forecasting, including load growth, new construction project integration, DER impacts, system constraints, and utility planning methodologies.

• Extensive experience with database applications (e.g., SQL, Oracle).

• Background in load forecasting, time series analysis, or similar analytical approaches applicable to distribution planning studies.

• Expertise in code-based data and statistical modeling tools, with proficiency in Python, R, or SAS considered an advantage.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering persuasive presentations and defending forecasts in regulatory contexts.

• Preferred experience with geospatial data, feeder-level analysis, or tools related to distribution system planning.
