Senior Consultant – Power BI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate customer discovery sessions to identify reporting needs.

• Collaborate with clients on Power BI Licensing, comprehending the advantages and limitations of each licensing option.

• Design high-performing star schema data models suitable for Power BI, including the development of appropriate calculated columns and measures.

• Develop Power BI solutions for clients that encompass data import from various sources, report and dashboard creation, and the formulation of relevant data elements using DAX and source queries.

• Advise clients on the deployment of Power BI solutions to the Power BI service, including Gateways, DirectQuery, DataFlows, and Data Updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience working with data and business intelligence solutions using the Microsoft Business Intelligence toolset (SSRS, Power BI, or PowerPivot (Excel) or PerformancePoint) or other vendor BI tools (Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, SAP).

• Proficient in TSQL, data modeling, and reporting with Power BI or other Microsoft tools.

• Experience in developing comprehensive Power BI report solutions that address business inquiries, featuring linked content, drilldowns, and nested parameters.

• Expertise in dynamic measure designs utilizing advanced DAX techniques.

• Familiarity with data mashups and transformations using Power Query/M language.

• Leverage the Databricks platform to create, implement, and optimize data pipelines and workflows.

• Capable of explaining visual design choices and interactions.

• Design, develop, and implement user interfaces to guarantee ease of use with minimal knowledge required from the functional workgroup utilizing the database.

• Competent in gathering requirements and leading focus groups to identify processes that will support and enhance business growth.
