Senior Fleet Manager – Business Intelligence, Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Fleet Director.

• Oversee the assessment, deployment, and configuration of enterprise telematics platforms, electronic logging devices (ELD), advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and computer vision hardware.

• Standardize API integrations and data flows between telematics hardware, ERP systems, and internal maintenance databases.

• Collaborate with Corporate IT and InfoSec to ensure compliance with data governance and information security protocols regarding fleet data handling.

• Pilot innovative fleet technologies and maintain relationships with hardware OEMs, software vendors, and third-party developers.

• Design, create, and sustain automated enterprise dashboards in Power BI or Tableau for critical fleet metrics.

• Develop telemetry models using SQL to consolidate CAN-bus and SAE J1939 protocol data.

• Implement predictive maintenance algorithms to detect vehicle degradation and avert roadside failures.

• Generate data-validated driver safety scorecards that encompass driving behavior and policy exceptions.

• Provide asset lifecycle recommendations to the Fleet Director to enhance CapEx and vehicle replacement schedules.

• Formulate the fleet electrification strategy utilizing duty-cycle, range, and infrastructure-cost analytics.

• Convert complex data patterns into understandable insights and actionable steps for regional operational managers and field teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a similar quantitative discipline.

• 5–7 years of experience managing connected fleet architectures, logistics analytics, or transport-centric systems engineering.

• Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) through NAFA or other recognized professional certifications in advanced data analytics/data engineering.

• Advanced skills in SQL database manipulation.

• Proficiency in enterprise BI visualization tools, such as Power BI and Tableau.

• Expert knowledge of commercial telematics hardware.

• Strong understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Hours of Service (HOS) tracking, and safety compliance.

• Demonstrable success in managing cross-functional technical initiatives.

• Experience delivering highly analytical findings to executive leadership.
