This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support various aspects of the FAA's Fire Life Safety (FLS) Program, including FLS Guidance, Policy Development, and Planning.
• Conduct final reviews for all CRA reports produced by Leidos and subcontractors prior to their submission to the customer.
• Aid the FAA in creating the Technical Implementation Guide.
• Assist the FAA with fire investigations.
• Maintain CRA templates and guides.
• Oversee the CRA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Manage the CRA tracking log.
• Support Leidos fire protection engineers and subcontractors during CRA report closeout meetings.
• Collaborate with the FAA to ensure that CRA reports include all requested information.
• Assist in the recruitment process for additional staff.
• Help develop analyses of FLS codes and standards.
• Provide guidance on the relevance of codes and standards to FAA facilities, its mission, and the specific technical issues encountered.
• Offer FLS guidance to the FAA on program and Agency initiatives where the FLS program is a stakeholder.
• Assist in creating standard specifications for installations at FAA facilities.
• Support FLS programmatic planning initiatives, prioritization, and consultations regarding program direction and objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 or more years of relevant exempt experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 or more years of relevant exempt experience.
• Professional Engineering License in Fire Protection Engineering or a willingness and capability to obtain one.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in the Fire Life Safety/Fire Protection field.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable ICC and NFPA codes.
• Previous experience in developing and/or providing comprehensive consultation on FLS programs.
• Ability to produce FLS designs for various critical FLS elements and provide essential feedback on FLS designs and installations.
• Past experience in training on FLS concepts and code application is mandatory.
• Experience collaborating within a team and addressing issues as a peer alongside other Fire Protection Engineers.
