This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +33 more states.
• Take ownership of and oversee the complete client billing and invoicing process to guarantee precision.
• Execute the client revenue validation process to confirm invoice correctness.
• Manage the tracking and reporting of accounts receivable along with the associated aging report.
• Supervise the client payment and reconciliation process against the payment processor, accounting system, and bank.
• Oversee the organization's bank operating accounts for client payment reconciliation.
• Act as the primary liaison and collaborator with a third-party vendor in managing the entire sales tax process, including tax calculation, invoice posting, sales tax payment tracking and collection, and state tax return filing to ensure accuracy, timely submission, and complete compliance.
• Assist in the comprehensive financial and accounting operations for the month-end closing process.
• Ensure the financial activities and accounting treatments recorded in ActBlue's books are accurate.
• Guarantee compliance of financial activities with accounting policies, relevant government regulations, and US GAAP.
• Support the preparation for annual audits and bank account reconciliations, updating accounting and financial policies as required.
• Aid in the preparation of regulatory reporting to various authorities on a monthly and yearly basis.
• Lead the design and development of executive management reporting and analysis for stakeholders across the organization.
• Develop key metrics to enhance management analysis, such as customer metrics.
• Contribute to the design and delivery of executive financial reporting and metrics utilized by the Executive Leadership Team for business reviews, reporting, and analysis, including headcount analysis and projections, labor strategy reporting, and workforce planning related to long-term organizational strategy, while also managing identified workstreams.
• Serve as the initial point of analysis for confidential labor relations cost analysis, including bargaining unit compensation modeling, contract proposal costing, and financial exposure analysis directly used by Senior leadership during negotiations.
• Maintain advanced, pre-decisional access to ActBlue's labor strategy while providing financial analysis; manage all labor relations financial data confidentially.
• Lead complex, high-priority financial initiatives throughout their entire lifecycle, collaborating with senior stakeholders.
• Develop recommendations concerning financial and operational policy creation and interpretation arising from assigned workstreams, including policies with financial implications for the organization.
• Provide ad-hoc assistance to the Director of FP&A on special projects, covering policy formulation and implementation, systems integration, process improvement, and issue resolution.
• Support long-term business development strategies, including acquisition strategies, cost projections, workforce planning analysis, and organizational due diligence.
• Utilize AI technologies to enhance processes and achieve efficiencies.
• 5 to 8 years of demonstrated experience in accounting, encompassing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, month-end close, and Accounts Receivable Aging.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Advanced technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Preferred experience and knowledge with NetSuite and Stripe.
• Experience in:
• Client billing and invoice creation processes.
• Managing client payments and reconciliations.
• Cash management and bank account reconciliations to the ledger.
• Managing sales tax processes (collection, payment, state tax filing).
• Revenue validation and reconciliation.
• Preparing for audits and regulatory reporting.
• Engaging with stakeholders across the organization.
• Large-scale project management experience is a plus.
• Identifying process gaps and deficiencies with solutions and execution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and a commitment to collaborating with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
• A strong interest in developing processes and procedures and identifying opportunities for efficiency.
• Significant experience in successfully managing complex projects and processes with various stakeholders.
• Natural curiosity combined with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities characterized by creativity and innovative thinking.
