Senior Financial Analyst, R&D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist financial and business stakeholders by providing data and insights that facilitate business strategies, spending initiatives, ad hoc financial analyses, and monthly, quarterly, and annual planning.

• Create and maintain models that correspond with and support the product roadmap, evaluating the outcomes achieved by the R&D teams.

• Engage in annual planning, long-term planning, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis (such as headcount, hosting, and AI costs).

• Generate KPI reporting and identify root cause trends in KPIs, while preparing insights for variance and key meetings.

• Manage small-scale projects aimed at enhancing our ability to derive better data-driven insights or improve overall company efficiency.

• Target audience includes FP&A management, functional managers, and directors.

• Collaborate across functions: work with the Accounting team on variance analysis, the Finance team on the monthly Finance deck, the Operations team to provide unit economics analysis, and department leaders on forecast updates based on previous months’ results. Deliver monthly analysis of SaaS metrics and peer benchmarking along with ad-hoc analyses as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in Finance, with preferably 2+ years of FP&A experience in a SaaS environment.

• A Bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, economics, business, or a related field.

• Familiarity with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Planning) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau).

• A strong passion for assisting others in making informed decisions based on ROI and effective storytelling through numbers.

• Capability to explain complex financial concepts to leaders throughout the organization.

• Exceptional Excel / Google Sheets skills, with the ability to handle large data sets efficiently.

• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.

• Strong analytical skills.
