This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process by formulating assumptions, conveying timelines and expectations, and ensuring compliance with critical deadlines.
• Oversee and manage the annual budget and quarterly forecasting cycles.
• Create templates, reports, and support for budgeting processes.
• Maintain and improve budgeting models by integrating stakeholder feedback and ensuring model accuracy and efficiency.
• Spearhead intricate financial modeling tasks, including forecasts for payroll, benefits, and depreciation.
• Provide standard reporting on actuals compared to budget forecasts.
• Offer variance analysis and insights to the FP&A leadership team.
• Oversee and sustain the centralized reporting framework, encompassing general ledger, cost center, project hierarchies, and supporting data structures.
• Develop and present KPI reporting and performance assessments for senior leaders and business stakeholders.
• Compile quarterly reporting packages for the Board of Directors, detailing financial outcomes, key trends, and commentary.
• Craft executive-level presentations, visualizations, and briefing materials for FP&A discussions with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and the Board.
• Analyze the performance of peer and competitor financial institutions and deliver comparative analysis along with industry insights.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• CPA or CFA designation is highly preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query.
• At least 5 years of experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, audit, or a related analytical position.
• Capability to handle multiple priorities and achieve results in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) is considered a plus.
• Background in a financial institution or banking environment is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Power BI and data visualization tools is considered beneficial.
