This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of group accounting from start to finish within a growing multi-entity framework in Europe.

• Integrate additional accounting functions in-house as the organization expands.

• Oversee the month-end closing process, which includes managing the calendar, tasks, reconciliations, and approvals.

• Ensure the accuracy, reconciliation, and explainability of reported figures at both entity and group levels.

• Transition and scale accounting operations internally.

• Handle reconciliations, intercompany accounting and eliminations, as well as statutory requirements and VAT compliance.

• Manage the group accounting ledger and implement controls related to the closing process.

• Coordinate with local tax and compliance service providers across various markets.

• Collaborate with FP&A and FinOps on actuals, accounts payable and receivable subledger reconciliations, coding guidelines, and exceptions.

• Develop the accounting playbook through established processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Identify accounting tasks suitable for standardization or automation and establish decision rules and exceptions.

• Prepare for statutory audits, manage schedules, and serve as the company's representative.

• Contribute to the development of scalable AI-enabled accounting workflows to support plancraft’s growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing month-end closing processes across multiple entities.

• Expertise in reconciliations, intercompany accounting and eliminations, statutory compliance, and VAT.

• Experience in managing external accounting and tax service providers.

• Background in transitioning accounting functions to an in-house model.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to constructively challenge internal stakeholders, auditors, and external tax advisors.

• Multi-country accounting experience, preferably in a shared services context.

• Deep understanding of mature accounting processes with the capacity to build and enhance them.

• Experience managing an ERP-grade accounting ledger.

• High level of autonomy and proactivity.

• Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in a rapidly evolving scale-up environment.

• An AI-first and automation-focused approach.

• Experience in a high-growth or scale-up setting.

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Familiarity with German HGB accounting, group consolidation, transfer pricing, or management recharge is a plus.

• Experience serving as a company-side representative during statutory audits is advantageous.

• Knowledge of DATEV, Abacum, Candis, Pliant, Stripe, or similar financial tools is beneficial.

• Proficiency in additional European languages, especially Spanish or Italian, is a plus.

• Strong written documentation skills and experience in creating practical SOPs are preferred.

• Legal authorization to work in the EU or the specific country where the position is located.

• Visa or work permit sponsorship is not available.
