This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Prepare, review, and analyze accounting and financial records, systems, and activities to ensure effective utilization and data integrity.
• Gather and assess data to identify weaknesses in controls, redundant efforts, excessive spending, regulatory or legal non-compliance, fraud, and mismanagement practices.
• Ensure adherence to ASC 842, which includes tracking lease schedules and preparing journal entries.
• Collaborate with operations and legal teams on lease-related transactions.
• Report to management regarding asset usage and related audit findings.
• Suggest enhancements to financial processes.
• Examine accounts for inconsistencies and carry out reconciliations.
• Analyze operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast revenues or expenses.
• Provide accounting support for significant projects.
• Prepare documentation and assistance for both internal and external audits.
• Conduct corporate closing tasks, including account and transaction analysis, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Develop standard work processes to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of the closing process.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and controls, including accounting standards, data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems, and corporate policies.
• Undertake additional duties as required and requested.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior accounting role.
• Experience in lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842.
• Background in supporting mergers and acquisitions purchase accounting calculations.
• Required knowledge and experience with ERP systems.
• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 is highly preferred.
• Extensive general ledger experience is necessary.
• Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong problem-solving abilities, including high-level and complex skills.
• Proficient in critical thinking, deductive and mathematical reasoning, analysis, and both written and verbal comprehension skills.
• Possess the ability to be self-motivated, self-directed, organized, and capable of prioritizing work within deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to thrive in a high-functioning team environment.
