This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead, develop, and oversee a team of Field Operations Supervisors based in major US regions.
• Conduct weekly one-on-ones, quarterly performance evaluations, growth plans, and career development for each direct report.
• Manage schedules and timesheets for hourly field technicians.
• Recruit new Field Operations Supervisors as the team expands both regionally and internationally.
• Organize and facilitate training sessions for new cohorts of technicians, as well as refresh existing team training.
• Build a talent pipeline by identifying high-performing technicians for future supervisory roles.
• Oversee daily performance of the field supervisor team across all active customer deployments.
• Manage capacity planning to ensure the team is appropriately staffed to meet customer demand.
• Coordinate cross-region planning for new customer expansions and peak installation cycles.
• Promote consistent supervisory practices across various customers and regions, even when facing differing customer-specific requirements.
• Accompany supervisors during peak deployment windows and critical phases (such as the first week of a significant expansion).
• Act as the primary escalation point for the supervisor team regarding safety, delays, contractor issues, and customer-facing field decisions.
• Own and maintain playbooks, training materials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support the growth of the field operations team.
• Develop and sustain the supervisor onboarding program in collaboration with HR/L&D.
• Transform field learnings and incident findings into updated SOPs and training materials.
• Revise contractor training and safety protocols in partnership with EH&S.
• Manage the team's interactions with Gridware contracted line crews.
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager on vendor performance management, contract terms, and exploring new contractor opportunities.
• Provide structured feedback from the field team to inform product design, installation tools, and field app development.
• Partner with Finance and the Senior Manager of Field Operations on unit cost monitoring by region, customer, and crew, as well as contractor cost management.
• Represent Field Operations in customer-facing escalation discussions when necessary.
• Ensure daily implementation of the safety program throughout the supervisor team.
• Establish tailboard and Job Hazard Analysis standards for the team and ensure consistent application of safety tools.
• Conduct safety reviews after any incident and integrate findings into updated practices.
• Enforce safety policies and best practices across the team's deployments.
• 7+ years of experience in field or construction operations and/or high-volume device installations.
• 3+ years of experience managing field leads, foremen, or crew supervisors, not just individual contributors.
• Direct experience with utilities, electrical infrastructure, or grid-adjacent hardware.
• Experience in managing hourly employee policies and timesheets.
• Proven success in managing contracted field labor at scale, including performance management and vendor relations.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; adept at creating SOPs and playbooks from scratch.
• Comfortable serving as the safety advocate in discussions, with a solid understanding of industry safety standards (OSHA, NESC, CA Construction standards a plus).
• Willingness to travel frequently (30–50%) and work flexible hours as required during peak installation periods and new customer expansions.
• Valid driver's license.
