This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +1 more state.
• Serve as a strategic risk advisor by collaborating with clients to proactively uncover emerging risks and develop practical, value-added mitigation strategies.
• Exhibit customer centricity and empathy by customizing recommendations to align with each client’s industry, risk profile, and business priorities.
• Perform risk assessments and consultations across multiple lines of insurance using onsite, hybrid, and virtual/digital delivery methods.
• Create and implement data-driven service plans that tackle loss drivers, operational exposures, and client business goals.
• Convert complex technical findings into clear, impactful insights through storytelling with data for clients, agents, and underwriting partners.
• Utilize digital tools, analytics, and emerging technologies (such as dashboards, virtual tools, and AI-enabled insights) to improve service quality, efficiency, and customer experience.
• Work collaboratively across functions including underwriting, claims, sales, data, and technical experts to provide integrated risk solutions.
• Discover opportunities to broaden Risk Services offerings and contribute to profitable growth.
• Engage in ongoing learning to remain informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and evolving technologies.
• Mentor, coach, and support junior risk engineering consultants as appropriate based on role level.
• Over 3 years of progressive experience in risk engineering, safety, loss control, or similar consulting roles.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) strongly preferred in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, Environmental Health, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong capability to assess risk, interpret loss data, identify trends, and create targeted mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency in using digital tools, analytics, and technology-enabled platforms to deliver risk engineering services.
• Demonstrated customer-centric approach with the capacity to understand client priorities and customize solutions accordingly.
• Proven track record of providing proactive consultation, including anticipating client needs and encouraging the adoption of recommendations.
• Excellent storytelling with data skills — converting technical findings into valuable business insights.
• Advanced written and verbal communication abilities, including the preparation of technical reports and the delivery of client-facing presentations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across underwriting, claims, sales, agents, brokers, and technical partners.
• Digital fluency, including a willingness to learn and embrace new tools, platforms, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Strong commitment to continuous learning, with a curiosity and initiative to enhance technical expertise, improve consultative skills, and adopt new digital and AI-enabled tools to increase customer impact.
• Capability to achieve or maintain at least one professional safety or risk management certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, ARM, CPCU, CHST).
