Senior Field Engineer – ECH SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +39 more states.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the ECH Field Engineer Manager.

• Assume responsibility for systems implemented in line with site design specifications.

• Conduct on-site configuration, testing, cutover, and post-cut support for both on-premise and cloud-hosted Emergency Call Handling solutions.

• Configure assigned and supported ECH solutions, which include hybrid cloud and SaaS-based applications.

• Execute site verification testing prior to cutting sites into production.

• Configure and address connectivity issues between local site infrastructure and cloud-hosted application environments.

• Assist customers and channel partners during ECH production deployments.

• Record solution modifications, including cloud tenant configurations and API integrations, throughout the implementation process.

• Efficiently resolve installation and quality-related issues.

• Engage in the development and approval of Methods of Procedure for cloud migrations and system upgrades.

• Take part in pre-contract oral presentations and customer negotiations as necessary.

• Maintain subject matter expertise in emerging cloud-native public safety technologies.

• Travel more than 75% both domestically and internationally (with a listed travel requirement of 50–75%).

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or Technology.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Engineering or Technical environment is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in the deployment or integration of complex IP products and systems.

• CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications are mandatory.

• Experience with troubleshooting cloud-based applications, including connectivity, latency analysis, and identity management (SSO/Active Directory).

• Proficiency in installation, administration, and troubleshooting of server virtualization, particularly with RedHat KVM, VMware ESXi v.6+, and/or Microsoft Hyper-V 2012+.

• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2016.

• Familiarity with Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2.

• Experience using Windows 7 and 10.

• Familiarity with Linux systems.

• Experience with network switches, ideally Cisco IOS.

• Basic understanding of firewalls and routers, preferably Fortinet FortiGate.

• Knowledge of telephony related to analog lines and PRI, including troubleshooting and physical configuration/termination.

• Familiarity with ACD call routing and provisioning.

• Understanding of SIP interfaces and call flow ladders for troubleshooting and SBC provisioning.

• Basic knowledge of Active Directory in relation to account segregation and role assignments.

• Ability to work independently using guides and remote support options.

• Capability to manage time effectively based on objectives and goal requirements.

• Familiarity with virtual machine deployments and hosted systems, including ESXi/KVM RedHat.

• Understanding of Cisco switch configurations.

• Must have or be eligible for a US passport for international travel up to 75%.

• Experience with server hardware and workstation hardware.

• Previous experience in Public Safety Applications deployment and integration, and/or operations and administration is preferred.

• Ability to apply critical thinking skills for problem-solving and decision-making.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.

• Relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, are advantageous.
