This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +3 more countries.
• Deliver advanced technical support regarding FATCA and CRS to WealthComply and its clients when requested.
• Analyze and make determinations on intricate classification cases involving multi-tier trusts, foundations, and holding structures.
• Approve classification memoranda.
• Respond to clients' technical inquiries related to registration, due diligence, reporting, corrections, and questions from tax authorities.
• Provide advice on the rectification of historical classification or reporting mistakes and documentation for regulators or auditors.
• Participate in sales calls and product demonstrations as an expert practitioner.
• Address technical questions that extend beyond the product script.
• Assist new clients in aligning their current structures with the platform during the onboarding process.
• Contribute to webinars, articles, conference panels, and client briefings.
• Serve as a technical resource for the client-facing team.
• Update the team on developments such as amended CRS and the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework.
• Offer insightful perspectives to clients' compliance officers and responsible officers.
• Typically, a minimum of ten years' experience in the trust and fiduciary sector.
• Practical experience with the entire FATCA and CRS compliance cycle for trusts and fiduciary structures, including entity classification, identification of controlling persons and equity interest holders, self-certification reviews, due diligence for new and existing accounts, registration, and annual reporting.
• Experience in preparing or reviewing FATCA and CRS reporting in designated XML formats.
• Familiarity with handling validation errors, corrected and voided records, and nil returns.
• Proficient in managing FATCA registration and GIIN maintenance, including for sponsored entities and trustee-documented trusts.
• Experience in registering and reporting through a local AEOI portal in at least one jurisdiction.
• Direct interaction with a tax authority or regulator regarding AEOI matters.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Model 1 and Model 2 IGA framework and CRS Commentary.
• Relevant work experience in at least one significant trust jurisdiction, such as Jersey, Guernsey, the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, Switzerland, or Liechtenstein, with familiarity in several other jurisdictions.
• Capable of composing clear technical memoranda in English and articulating analysis in layman's terms.
• Willingness to undertake assignments on short notice.
• Ability to work without conflicts with any current employer or client.
• Legal, accountancy, or STEP qualification is a plus.
• Experience as a FATCA responsible officer is advantageous.
• Knowledge of US Chapter 3 withholding and QI documentation, including Forms W-8 and W-9, is a plus.
• Exposure to fund administration is advantageous.
