Senior Expert – Design Review, Pressure Equipment & Piping

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Analytical and, when necessary, quantitative evaluation and validation of the strength and stability of intricate pressure vessels, piping, and other pressure-bearing plant components subject to inspection.

• Examination of piping classifications and calculation of load-bearing capacity and strength of piping (PSA).

• Utilization of recognized codes and national as well as international standards (e.g., AD2000, EN 13445, EN 13480, ASME, etc.).

• Evaluation of material suitability and planned manufacturing processes, including welding design and code-compliant construction.

• Engagement with current calculation programs (e.g., ROHR2, PROBAD, Rohr2fesu, etc.) and FEM software (e.g., Ansys).

• Review and assessment of individual expert reports (e.g., PMA) for the materials utilized.

• If necessary, conducting surveillance and quality assurance audits in the domain of pressure equipment manufacturing.

• Creation of technical documentation, inspection and acceptance reports, as well as safety assessments and expert opinions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

• Several years of experience with the European Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) and the relevant codes, technical regulations, guidelines, and harmonized standards.

• Extensive experience in design and strength calculations and in conducting structural integrity verifications for pressure equipment.

• Experience and knowledge in acceptance testing of pressure equipment and assemblies, as well as manufacturing processes, material, and welding technology, are advantageous.

• Familiarity with surveillance and quality assurance audits (e.g., ISO 9001/PED) is a plus.

• Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken.

• Willingness to travel.
