Senior ETL, Talend Developer – Fintech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design and creation of intricate ETL pipelines utilizing Talend (DI / ESB / Cloud)

• Take full ownership of the delivery of integration solutions, spanning from requirements gathering to production support

• Make and document technical design choices regarding integration patterns, performance, and scalability

• Establish and refine integration standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices

• Construct and maintain integrations across databases, APIs, SaaS platforms, third-party providers, and legacy systems

• Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and auditability, particularly in regulated environments

• Enhance ETL jobs for performance, reliability, and handling high data volumes

• Implement comprehensive logging, error handling, alerting, and recovery strategies

• Serve as a technical mentor for mid and junior developers

• Conduct code reviews and uphold quality standards

• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and architects to define integration solutions

• Support UAT and production launches, including troubleshooting complex issues

• Provide third-line support for integration challenges in production

• Recognize legacy integration risks and drive modernization initiatives

• Advocate for enhancements in monitoring, observability, and operational resilience

⛳️ Requirements

• 6–10+ years of experience in ETL / data integration development

• Strong, recent hands-on expertise with Talend (Data Integration, ESB, or Talend Cloud)

• Advanced knowledge of ETL design patterns

• Proficiency in data transformation and mapping

• Experience with batch and near real-time integrations

• Strong SQL skills and experience dealing with enterprise-scale databases

• Proven experience in integrating with REST/SOAP APIs, file-based feeds, and third-party systems

• Experience in implementing robust error handling, logging, and reconciliation

• Strong understanding of SDLC, release management, and environment promotion

• Solid grasp of version control (Git) and collaborative development practices

• Awareness of security, data protection, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR)
