📋 Description

• We are seeking a meticulous Senior Estimator to provide precise and competitive cost estimates for structural, mechanical, and industrial projects.

• This position is crucial for ensuring project success through timely submissions, robust technical analysis, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Generate precise, detailed, and commercially viable cost estimates for structural steel, mechanical, piping, fabrication, maintenance, and industrial initiatives.

• Analyze engineering drawings, P&IDs, technical specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation to create comprehensive estimating submissions.

• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and material assessments for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and related project costs.

• Create bottom-up estimates utilizing established company estimating templates, methodologies, and pricing tools.

• Handle multiple Requests for Quotation (RFQs) simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

• Provide estimates within agreed turnaround times, typically 7–10 days for standard projects and up to 2–3 weeks for larger or more complex opportunities.

• Ensure all tender and quotation submissions are accurate, commercially competitive, compliant, and submitted on time.

• Assist in estimating requirements for reactive maintenance tasks, shutdown projects, urgent fabrication requests, and breakdown-related activities.

• Offer rapid pricing support for ad-hoc client inquiries and emerging project opportunities.

• Build and nurture strong working relationships with key clients through responsive and high-quality estimating assistance.

• Contribute to business growth initiatives by engaging in new project opportunities, tenders, and strategic client pursuits.

• Continuously assess estimate performance and identify ways to enhance turnaround times, pricing accuracy, and win rates.

• Aid in refining estimating methodologies, pricing databases, and internal estimating processes to boost efficiency and consistency.

• Maintain accurate records of estimates, assumptions, pricing inputs, supplier quotations, and supporting documentation.

• Operate within company systems, including estimating workbooks, SharePoint, document management platforms, and project records.

• Collaborate closely with operations teams, project managers, workshop staff, fabrication teams, and management to ensure estimates align with operational capabilities.

• Participate in estimate reviews, tender discussions, project planning meetings, and internal commercial assessments.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and commercial excellence.

• Fulfill other role-specific duties as they arise.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.

• Proven experience in estimating within structural, mechanical, and piping (SMP) environments.

• Demonstrated experience in estimating fabrication, maintenance, industrial, mining, manufacturing, energy, or heavy industry projects.

• Strong ability to interpret intricate engineering drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Experience in preparing detailed quantity take-offs, cost build-ups, and comprehensive project estimates.

• Solid understanding of fabrication processes, construction methodologies, labor productivity, and material costing.

• Knowledge of structural steel, mechanical systems, piping systems, and related installation activities.

• Experience in pricing maintenance, shutdown, brownfield, or industrial services projects is highly advantageous.

• Qualifications or background in Structural or Mechanical Engineering would be highly regarded.

• Familiarity with project planning tools such as Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software would be beneficial.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating workbooks.

• Experience with document management systems like SharePoint or similar platforms.

• Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to balance competitiveness, profitability, and risk management.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate estimates.

• Capability to manage multiple competing priorities and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.

• Highly organized with strong documentation and record-keeping abilities.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving objectives.
