Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take the lead on intricate tenders with a high level of precision across the entire building scope.

• Create comprehensive construction-level estimates encompassing all trades, including structural, architectural, civil, services, preliminaries, and site works.

• Conduct precise quantity take-offs and trade breakdowns utilizing construction documentation, BIM models, and drawings.

• Formulate clear scopes of work, maintain assumption registers, identify exclusions, develop methodology notes, and provide tender clarifications.

• Recognize scope gaps, missing information, trade interfaces, and buildability challenges throughout the estimating process.

• Distinguish clearly between factory-manufactured and site-based activities.

• Construct and organize estimates within CostX, incorporating workbook setup, dimension groups, model mapping, and rate build-ups.

• Analyze technical specifications, tender documents, and construction drawings in compliance with Australian construction standards and NCC requirements.

• Work in partnership with Sales, Design, Manufacturing, and Construction teams to create commercially viable submissions.

• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to verify pricing and scope coverage.

• Ensure structured estimate handovers to operational delivery teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in construction estimating within commercial, modular, or head contractor settings.

• Demonstrated ability to independently produce detailed full-building estimates across all major trades.

• Advanced proficiency in CostX, including:

• workbook setup,

• dimension group structuring,

• model mapping,

• rate build-ups,

• estimate template creation,

• and first-principles estimating.

• Strong knowledge of Australian construction methodologies, NCC requirements, trade sequencing, and buildability principles.

• Capability to independently evaluate incomplete documentation and identify necessary scope inclusions.

• Significant site-based construction experience with a practical understanding of construction delivery, subcontractor coordination, and methodologies.

• Proven structured estimating methodology with a keen focus on scope completeness and documentation quality.

• Effective communicator who proactively engages with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

• Proficient in Autodesk Revit and skilled in interpreting drawings.

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
