Senior ESG Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide specialized guidance on ESG standards (IFC Performance Standards, World Bank, etc.)

• Assist in the creation and execution of ESG strategies across client projects

• Serve as a subject matter expert in Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and risk management

• Lead or evaluate Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs)

• Supervise the implementation and monitoring of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP)

• Ensure the quality control of outputs from consultants and partners

• Handle multiple ESG projects concurrently

• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams

• Monitor timelines, deliverables, and budgets

• Assist in stakeholder engagement strategies and community relations

• Provide advice on grievance mechanisms, Resettlement Action Plans (RAP)/Livelihood Restoration Plans (LRP), and social risk mitigation

• Work closely with internal teams to establish ESG/HSEC role requirements

• Assist in the technical screening and validation of candidates

• Prepare ESG reports and related documentation

• Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support ongoing improvement initiatives

• Lead ESG due diligence processes for investments, acquisitions, and project financing

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Sustainability, or a related field

• Over 10 years of experience in ESG / Environmental & Social roles, with considerable exposure in Africa

• Extensive experience with ESIA processes and ESMP implementation

• Demonstrated project management proficiency

• Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and global ESG frameworks

• Experience in the mining, energy, or infrastructure sectors

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities

• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is highly preferred
