Senior Environmental Sustainability, ESG Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the creation, upkeep, and long-term advancement of the organization's environmental sustainability and ESG strategies.

• Compare practices with industry peers to guide improvements and innovate new enterprise-level methodologies.

• Take charge of the long-term management of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) target establishment.

• Uphold and advocate for robust ESG governance practices.

• Formulate and suggest strategies for fostering internal engagement regarding climate and ESG initiatives.

• Monitor and support relevant environmental and ESG regulations, standards, and frameworks.

• Oversee existing compliance programs and establish new operational processes.

• Collaborate with Legal, Technical Accounting, and Risk teams to ensure compliance readiness.

• Supervise the project management of voluntary reporting initiatives.

• Lead the execution of Climate Risk Assessments and Double Materiality Assessments as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8-10+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, climate, or a related domain and ESG.

• Proven track record of implementing sustainability programs within established frameworks.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sustainability initiatives in a global organization, including managing complex Scope 3 emissions challenges.

• In-depth understanding of ESG reporting standards, environmental metrics, and SBTi target setting.

• Experience collaborating as a Subject Matter Expert with Legal, Finance, or Compliance departments.

• Familiarity with planning and executing Double Materiality Assessments (DMA) and navigating ESG regulations, including CSRD, CA SB253, CA SB261, or others.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing executive-ready materials.
