This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as a client-facing environmental consultant and advisor for manufacturing and industrial clients.
• Spearhead strategies for water and air permitting, including the development of applications, coordination with agencies, and maintenance, renewals, and modifications of permits.
• Offer support for environmental compliance and create practical solutions tailored to client regulatory requirements and operational needs.
• Assess client needs, regulatory demands, site conditions, and business goals to formulate effective environmental strategies.
• Conduct environmental compliance assessments, audits, program evaluations, and corrective action planning.
• Assist in the execution of environmental compliance programs and corrective measures.
• Oversee environmental projects and engagements, including managing scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, risks, and client expectations.
• Contribute to business development by identifying client needs, developing scopes of work, crafting proposals, and presenting environmental solutions.
• Establish and nurture client relationships to enhance retention, expand services, and uncover new business opportunities.
• Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, action plans, and communications for clients.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies, client representatives, technical teams, and other interested parties.
• Articulate complex environmental requirements and recommendations in a practical, business-oriented manner.
• Identify opportunities for expanding environmental services and work collaboratively across service lines.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to fellow environmental professionals.
• Manage multiple client engagements, competing priorities, and project deadlines effectively.
• Facilitate client site work, permitting tasks, project execution, and relationship building through domestic travel.
• Adhere to Tormod and Hargrove Policies and Procedures (HMS).
• A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related technical field is preferred.
• An advanced degree or a combination of education and relevant professional experience is advantageous.
• Professional certifications, licenses, or pertinent environmental credentials are highly preferred.
• Substantial environmental experience in supporting manufacturing, industrial, chemical, energy, infrastructure, or similar facilities is essential.
• Proven expertise in water and air permitting, including application development, renewals, modifications, ongoing permit maintenance, and regulatory coordination, is required.
• Demonstrated experience in environmental consulting, business development, project management, and client relationship management is necessary.
• Extensive understanding of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance requirements, particularly regarding water and air permitting.
• Ability to conduct environmental compliance assessments, audits, program reviews, and corrective action planning.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Familiarity with environmental compliance programs related to waste management, spill prevention, stormwater, hazardous materials, construction, and associated environmental regulations is preferred.
• Experience in supporting multi-site clients, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, capital projects, operational changes, expansions, or regulatory compliance programs is preferred.
• Willingness to travel throughout the continental United States and work effectively in industrial and manufacturing environments.
• Capability to obtain and maintain required client site access credentials, including a TWIC card when necessary.
• Ability to lift and carry more than 25 lbs.
• Capacity to travel by vehicle and/or commercial flight, including overnight trips.
• Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license and ability to drive to client sites.
• Ability to function safely for 8–10 hours per workday in manufacturing and industrial plant settings.
• Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to access client facilities and carry out site assessments, inspections, and other environmental field activities.
• Willingness to travel approximately 40% throughout the continental United States.
