This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• Oversee and evaluate federal, state, and local permitting processes and NEPA compliance for mining and energy initiatives.
• Act as the main liaison with local, state, and federal government agencies, in addition to private sector clients such as mining firms, commercial/industrial developers, and engineering companies.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for the preparation of NEPA documents, conducting research, generating technical documents/deliverables, and engaging with external clients.
• Function as a project manager for permitting and NEPA compliance on large, intricate mining projects.
• Organize and execute project tasks related to the development and provision of precise, timely, and high-quality NEPA and permitting products and services.
• Directly engage with key agencies and clients to foster and sustain strong relationships.
• Recognize and cultivate new opportunities, create proposals, and enhance client relationships.
• Guide project teams to fulfill client timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
• Lead, manage, motivate, and mentor team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in physical science, natural science, policy, economics, environmental science, or related fields.
• Over 6 years of experience in national/state/local environmental reviews, mine permitting, or NEPA project management.
• A Master’s degree in physical science, natural science, policy, economics, or environmental science is preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in managing/preparing NEPA documents or environmental permitting.
• Recent experience with regulations and policies from the Bureau of Land Management and/or U.S. Forest Service.
• Proficiency in obtaining environmental permits and reviewing technical studies related to biological resources, cultural resources, air quality, noise, and hydrology.
• Experience managing pre-NEPA activities (e.g., surveys, data collection).
• Ability to develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Teams).
