
Senior Enterprise Operations Database Administrator – Epic Operational

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The primary focus is on the upkeep and support of the Epic IRIS databases operating on Linux platforms across both production and non-production settings.
• Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing updates/upgrades on the Epic IRIS databases.
• Offer assistance for ongoing Epic EMR implementation projects by providing technical expertise in areas such as testing and training.
• Oversee system administration for various servers and manage software system analysis, installation, and implementation.
• Collaborate effectively with technical teams, clients, analyst groups, vendor support, and management to align development strategies and ensure seamless integration within the UAMS IT infrastructure.
• Stay informed about technological advancements to guarantee that solutions are consistently enhanced, supported, and aligned with industry standards and evolving business needs.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the interactions among systems, applications, and services in the environment, assessing the impact of any changes or additions.
• Conduct system analyses and usability testing to ensure optimal performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and fulfill security requirements.
• Provide premier support for UAMS Information Technology.
• Execute tasks and assignments as assigned.
• Participate in a round-the-clock on-call rotation, 24/7, 365 days a year, with each member taking calls for one week at a time.
• A Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with 3 years of relevant work experience in an IT setting that supports at least two of the following: Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX/Linux Server Administration.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, paired with 5 years of relevant work experience in an IT environment supporting at least two of the following: Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX/Linux Server Administration.
• Or, an Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 7 years of relevant work experience in an IT environment supporting at least two of the following: Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX/Linux Server Administration.
• Or, a High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of relevant work experience in an IT environment supporting at least two of the following: Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX/Linux Server Administration.
• Must be available for on-call duties and respond promptly to trouble calls outside standard working hours.
• Occasional work may require exceeding eight hours per day.
• The role will often involve moderate to high job-related stress due to workload pressures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
