This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Responsible for the installation, configuration, and upgrading of databases.
• Conduct routine maintenance on databases, including backups, restores, and recovery processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance to guarantee optimal operation.
• Collaborate with senior administrators to optimize database parameters and queries.
• Ensure timely application of patches, updates, and upgrades to databases.
• Implement and uphold database security protocols to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
• Aid in the establishment of user accounts, roles, and permissions.
• Conduct regular database backups and verify that backup and recovery procedures are effective and in place.
• Support disaster recovery planning and execution efforts.
• Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and modifications.
• Create and revise operational manuals and troubleshooting guides.
• Offer technical support for database-related queries and issues.
• Collaborate with development and application teams to address database issues and enhance system performance.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support.
• Collaborate closely with other IT personnel, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of database systems.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging database technologies and best practices.
• Engage in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Relevant SQL DBA certifications are advantageous.
• Over 3 years of experience as an MS SQL Database Administrator.
• Proficient in SQL coding and troubleshooting.
• Experience with both on-premise and Azure SQL environments.
• Familiarity with Rubrik is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Experience with SQL Sentry is beneficial, but not required.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
