This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Prioritize coaching your team above all else, acting as a force multiplier dedicated to the success of both the team and its individual members.
• Lead the execution and delivery of features and new products.
• Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.
• Focus on team happiness, wellbeing, and overall productivity.
• Engage in cross-functional coordination, planning, and reviews with leads from other engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Product Managers on defining objectives, setting priorities, making trade-offs, and assessing risks.
• We do not impose a strict hands-on/off division; however, we encourage you to continue coding to maintain your technical expertise and to thoroughly understand the technical challenges your team encounters.
• Contribute to technical decisions by sharing your technical insights alongside your strategic and planning input.
• Develop processes and address challenges that arise during periods of rapid growth.
• Engage in architecture discussions and planning activities.
• Demonstrate the ability to act as a Tech Lead and take a hands-on approach when necessary.
• Uphold and nurture our company culture by interviewing and hiring only the most qualified candidates, with a strong emphasis on diversity.
• At least 4 years of experience in engineering leadership and people management.
• Background in a startup environment.
• Previous experience as a senior individual contributor.
• A well-rounded technical skill set and the capability to engage in complex technical discussions.
• Proven experience in recruiting and developing a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing context.
• Ability to be agile, proactive, and comfortable working with minimal specifications, while also crafting a robust execution plan for your team.
• Strong project management skills, as the Engineering Manager is accountable for both planning and execution at Belvo.
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools and frameworks that aid in software development, testing, or automation.
• Knowledge of payment processing technologies and vendors in the Mexican market.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish at an advanced level.
