This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Define, spearhead, and implement the long-term vision and strategy for the North American Mobility (NAM) Experience, which includes card and vehicle management and mobility payments (card issuance, controls, lifecycle, transactions).
• Act as a hands-on technical leader, taking ownership of and executing the systems designs for the UI platform.
• Create and uphold the architectural roadmap for the NAM experience, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, collaboration, and empowerment within the team.
• Consistently question existing processes to minimize time-to-market by adopting effective engineering practices.
• Lead and manage cross-team engineering projects as the single-threaded owner (STO).
• Work closely with product, UX, and commercial teams to prioritize tasks and develop a modern UI, starting from customer needs.
• Implement clear, metrics-driven assessments of developer productivity throughout the NAM Experience team.
• Conduct effective weekly and monthly planning, execution, and auditing mechanisms for workstreams.
• Collaborate with product and commercial leaders to maintain a strong roadmap and define clear, interdependent OKRs.
• Partner with other Mobility engineering teams to encourage the reuse of development practices and components, reducing effort duplication.
• Recruit, lead, manage, retain, and develop high-performing software engineers.
• Engage in active career growth planning, providing monthly and quarterly feedback for individual progress.
• Maintain a detailed resource map showing developers and their month-over-month work streams.
• Present, influence, and communicate effectively with the senior leadership team.
• Share regular updates and insights with your manager regarding challenges and opportunities in the Mobility domain.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Over 6 years of software engineering experience, including more than 2 years in an engineering management role, leading frontend/UI engineering teams.
• Strong practical experience in building and scaling modern web applications with frameworks such as Angular or React, including ownership of UI architecture at scale.
• Proven track record of driving engineering excellence in frontend systems, focusing on performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG), reliability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing and enforcing testing strategies for UI systems (unit, integration, and end-to-end testing) and enhancing CI/CD pipelines for frontend delivery.
• Experience collaborating with Product, Design, and Backend teams to translate product vision into scalable and maintainable UI solutions.
• Solid grasp of security, privacy, and compliance aspects relevant to web applications (e.g., authentication, authorization, data protection).
• Familiarity with utilizing developer productivity tools, including automation and AI-assisted development, to enhance code quality, velocity, and consistency.
• Strong people leadership abilities, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development for frontend engineers.
• Capability to function effectively in ambiguous situations, make informed trade-offs, and guide teams through transitions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and clearly express both technical and non-technical concepts.
