Senior Engineering Manager, Enterprise Foundations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a senior-focused team of approximately 12 engineers across various workstreams.

• Establish and uphold a cohesive technical vision for the team.

• Facilitate the integration of customized retailer-specific services onto a unified Instacart platform framework.

• Collaborate with Machine Learning and Data Engineering teams on long-term compliance for the enterprise data platform.

• Create self-service tools that empower retailers and internal teams to deploy without encountering engineering delays.

• Convey technical and product trade-offs among various engineering and product organizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering.

• More than 3 years of experience in managing engineering teams that deliver platform or infrastructure products within a B2B or enterprise setting.

• Proven experience leading teams with 10 or more engineers.

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments.

• Established cross-functional leadership skills influencing results across multiple engineering and product teams.

• Experience in leading architectural transitions involving multiple teams, such as consolidation, replatforming, multi-tenancy, or data isolation.

• Technical expertise in distributed systems, API/SDK design, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS or GCP).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
