This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the developer feedback processes — including CI/CD, testing, dependency management, and tools that enable the entire organization to deliver faster and more securely.
• Spearhead AI-integrated development — explore the future of AI-assisted engineering at Honeycomb, focusing on both human engineers and agents, and the role observability plays in that evolution.
• Demonstrate the return on investment — establish and monitor developer productivity and satisfaction metrics that provide leadership with assurance regarding the team's influence.
• Drive organizational change — guide engineers both within and outside your team to embrace change rather than resist it.
• Foster team growth — support engineers and your management community through one-on-one meetings, career development, and feedback mechanisms.
• Extensive, multi-year experience in leading an engineering enablement or developer experience team — sufficient tenure in previous roles to facilitate large-scale changes over time.
• Proficiency in CI/CD.
• A proven history of defining and tracking developer productivity and ROI metrics — capable of establishing the metrics program, not merely utilizing it.
• Leadership in cross-organizational change — preferably having guided an organization through a significant workflow transformation or AI implementation.
• Strong expertise with AI tools.
• The capability to differentiate between effective and ineffective AI usage, along with the ability to convey your own AI philosophy.
• Familiarity with observability and OpenTelemetry (Honeycomb's area of focus).
• Experience managing internal platforms or tools as a "product," treating internal engineers as your clients.
