Engineering Manager – API

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Active Technical Contribution: Engage daily with the codebase, take full ownership from end to end, make decisions regarding architecture and API design, promote test-driven development, and manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines.

• Technical Leadership: Empower senior individual contributors, define epic scopes, assist in roadmapping, keep the team aligned on high-priority tasks, collaborate with other teams, and advocate for infrastructure improvements.

• People Leadership & Team Development: Facilitate team ceremonies, mentor engineers, manage performance, foster psychological safety, and participate in the hiring process.

• Operational Excellence: Take charge of system health, lead incident response efforts, and spearhead automation initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in professional software development.

• Proven track record in team leadership, whether in a formal capacity or through tech lead roles.

• Strong foundation in software engineering and computer science principles.

• Proficiency in Java/Spring or similar backend frameworks.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and microservices architecture.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
