This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead a diverse team of engineers across iOS, Android, and backend systems.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams.
• Enhance the speed, reliability, and accessibility of game coverage.
• Mentor and develop engineers by setting clear expectations, providing growth opportunities, delivering feedback, and fostering accountability.
• Establish delivery objectives and prioritize tasks in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Navigate trade-offs and proactively identify potential risks.
• Set and uphold standards for engineering excellence and system reliability.
• Recruit and onboard exceptional engineering talent.
• Assess alignment with values, fit for skills, and fluency in AI.
• Contribute to the engineering culture and improve organizational effectiveness through cross-team initiatives.
• Report directly to the Director of Engineering for Basketball.
• 4+ years of experience in leading engineering teams.
• 6+ years of experience in software development.
• Proven history of managing and nurturing engineering talent across various levels.
• Technical expertise in one or more areas of the technology stack.
• Sufficient breadth to engage in architectural discussions.
• Capability to maintain high standards for quality and reliability.
• Strong product instincts and ability to collaborate with Product and Design.
• Skill in aligning priorities to achieve impactful results.
• Ongoing development of AI fluency.
• Capacity to assist the team in enhancing their AI fluency.
• High standards for judgment and ownership.
• Must reside in the United States; hiring is not available in AK, DE, HI, IA, LA, MS, MT, OK, or SC.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Work remotely anywhere in the US or from our modern office in Manhattan, NY.
