Senior Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• ERP Data Specialist: You will be responsible for implementing connectors to retrieve and store ERP data, akin to constructing a bridge to a wealth of information. Additionally, you must ensure that this data is highly accessible, guaranteeing that it remains available around the clock, without interruptions. This is your domain, and you will oversee all enhancements related to it. Ensure that the data is stored efficiently and securely, always prepared for immediate use.

• Business-Tech Liaison: Gain a thorough understanding of business requirements. Engage actively in discussions with the team and showcase your expertise in designing technical solutions. You will serve as the crucial link between business needs and technical execution.

• Backend API Master: As customer requirements continually evolve, you will implement or upgrade backend APIs to accommodate these new demands seamlessly. Your contributions will be vital in enabling our organization to adapt to market changes effectively.

• System Maintenance and Architecture Champion: Expertly maintain our existing services. Engage in iterative upgrades, deploy enhancements, and manage service governance. Your efforts will unify our services and ensure their continuous evolution. Construct new foundational components that provide the team with robust, reliable core support.

• Global Team Player: Collaborate closely with our teams in the US, Singapore, and China. Be adaptable with your work hours, as the data realm operates continuously, and your readiness is essential!

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with over 8 years of overall experience.

• Strong foundational knowledge in computer science and programming skills, along with familiarity with common data structures and algorithms.

• Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: Python, Golang, or Java (with a strong preference for Python).

• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RMQ, SQS, and relational/NoSQL databases including MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, HBase, Redis, Aerospike, etc.

• Background in architecture and development of large-scale distributed systems.

• Familiarity with microservice architecture, API gateway patterns, and service observability (including logging, tracing, and metrics).

• Proven experience in building and operating systems with stringent latency and reliability demands in 24/7 environments, including:

• High-performance, high-uptime (99.99%+) systems

• Self-recoverable architectures

• Container/VM orchestration platforms

• Bonus: Experience with RPC frameworks such as gRPC/Protobuf and Thrift.

• Strong architectural expertise with modern backend stacks (Go, Python, Java, Node.js) and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes/Docker).

• Excellent logical analysis skills, capable of abstracting and effectively dividing business logic.

• Strong sense of ownership, self-motivation, and the ability to deliver independently while also collaborating effectively.

• Experience in leading small engineering initiatives or mentoring junior developers (25-30%).

• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts and organizational strategies to engineers, cross-functional partners, and executives.
