Senior Engineering Intelligence Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain advanced, interactive dashboards in Looker that focus on feature delivery predictions, FTE allocation, resource contention, and portfolio health.

• Transition existing HTML-based dashboards to the enterprise Looker platform while maintaining and enhancing analytical capabilities.

• Create user-friendly, self-service visualizations that empower engineering leaders to analyze data and find answers independently.

• Apply and evaluate DORA metrics (Deploy Frequency, Lead Time, Change Failure Rate, MTTR) to assess and enhance DevOps performance.

• Establish alerting and anomaly detection systems to proactively identify risks such as feature slippage, resource over-allocation, and outdated work items.

• Construct and oversee reliable, automated data pipelines that integrate Jira (REST API, Structure exports), Jellyfish APIs, Salesforce, and other internal systems into Google BigQuery.

• Develop and fine-tune complex SQL queries and Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading.

• Create and manage scalable and efficient data models using LookML, establishing a definitive “source of truth” for engineering metrics.

• Implement data quality assessments, automated validation, and monitoring to ensure accuracy and timeliness with a near-real-time SLA.

• Enhance query performance and data models to achieve sub-second response times for dashboards.

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to examine data from Jira and Jellyfish, offering insights into team performance, project delivery, and resource distribution.

• Participate in business analysis to comprehend stakeholder needs, gather requirements, and translate them into technical specifications for data models and reports.

• Assist leadership in crafting executive-ready analyses and insight presentations for QBRs and other strategic assessments.

• Document data lineage, calculation methodologies, and dashboard logic to ensure transparency and auditability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, or a comparable technical analytics role.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL (complex joins, window functions, CTEs, performance optimization).

• Proficiency in Python for data processing (e.g., pandas, requests, scheduled jobs).

• Practical experience with Looker, encompassing LookML data modeling, advanced dashboard design, and performance enhancement.

• Experience in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing REST API data sources.

• Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and the functioning of engineering organizations.

• Strong data visualization abilities with a proven track record of designing dashboards that effectively convey a narrative.
